1. WHAT THIS COVERS

   The NakshatraGanita source code, astronomical calculation logic, calibration
   constants, festival and panchanga rules, page designs, layouts, generated
   PDF and share-card designs, original text, translations and image assets
   (together, "the Work").


2. WHAT IS NOT PERMITTED

   Except as allowed by applicable law, or with prior written permission, you
   may not:

     (a) copy, reproduce or republish the Work or any substantial part of it;
     (b) redistribute it, whether modified or unmodified;
     (c) modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works from it;
     (d) use it, in whole or in part, for any commercial purpose;
     (e) extract the calculation logic, calibration constants or rule tables
         for use in another product or service; or
     (f) systematically harvest the site's computed output in order to
         reconstruct the underlying data or rules.

   No licence is granted by implication or estoppel. Viewing the site, or
   reading the JavaScript your browser downloads in order to run it, does not
   grant any right to reuse it.


3. WHAT YOU MAY DO

   You may use the website normally: read it, rely on it, and share the
   share-card images and page links it produces. Those cards are meant to be
   shared.

   If you bought a NakshatraGanita Calendar (the PDF and its calendar file),
   it is yours to keep, use and print, and to share within your own household
   or give as a printed gift. Please do not resell it, post the files
   publicly, or pass them on beyond your household.

   Nothing here is intended to restrict rights you have under applicable law,
   including fair dealing / fair use, and any rights that cannot lawfully be
   excluded.


4. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS

   The Work includes third-party libraries that are NOT covered by this licence
   and remain under their own terms:

     - astronomy-engine  (MIT)   js/astronomy.browser.min.js
     - three.js          (MIT)   js/three.min.js
     - jsPDF             (MIT)   js/jspdf.umd.min.js

   These are deployed unmodified and keep their own licence notices.

   The Moon's surface (img/moon-map.jpg, and moon-disc.jpg made from it) is
   the Moon LRO LROC WAC Global Morphology Mosaic, which is in the public
   domain: LROC Team, Arizona State University, and USGS Astrogeology Science
   Center. We adjusted its brightness to match the site.

   The PDF calendars and the share images draw text in these fonts, used
   under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 and loaded from Google Fonts:
   Rozha One, Inter, Noto Sans Kannada, Noto Serif Kannada and DM Serif
   Display.


5. PUBLIC-DOMAIN AND TRADITIONAL SOURCE MATERIAL

   NakshatraGanita presents material that nobody owns and that this licence
   does NOT and cannot claim:

     - the Hindu calendrical tradition, and the definitions of tithi,
       nakshatra, yoga, karana, masa and the festivals themselves;
     - the astronomical methods, which are published science (Meeus, Espenak
       and the standard literature);
     - the Mahabharata and other traditional texts, including the Sanskrit
       verses, and K. M. Ganguli's translation (1883-1896), which is in the
       public domain; the BORI Critical Edition is credited as a reference;
     - astronomical events and their dates (eclipses, oppositions, meteor
       showers, using the International Meteor Organization's published peak
       positions), and the dates of public scientific and space-mission
       milestones, which are facts.

   NakshatraGanita is independent. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed
   by, ISRO or any other organisation, mission or person it mentions.

   What is claimed is our own expression of that material: our selection,
   arrangement, wording, translations, visual design and software.

   Anyone is free to go to the same sources and build their own work from them.


6. NO WARRANTY

   The Work is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Timings and
   sky events are computed to the best of our ability and validated against
   reference sources, but they are provided for general information. Whether
   an event can be seen depends on the weather, the horizon and local light.
   Never look at the Sun directly, even during an eclipse, without certified
   eclipse glasses. Verify timings independently before relying on them for
   ritual or legal purposes.
